This year’s Australian PGA Championship brought thousands of spectators, multiple broadcast partners and a demanding schedule to Royal Queensland Golf Club. CMS was engaged to deliver a complete audio-visual solution across the course, the fan activation zones, a premium hospitality marquee, and the Greg Norman Medal Awards.
Over four days, our team integrated large-scale audio systems, live vision, camera operations, LED content, a mobile broadcast van and full gala production — all built to perform in Brisbane’s storm season.
Course-wide Audio Infrastructure
To deliver consistent coverage across the venue, CMS deployed more than 40 speakers and over a kilometre of cabling throughout the course. With this system we supported:
- Live announcements
- Multiple BGM zones
- DJ sets and live musicians
- The final presentation ceremony
Every element was weather-proofed and engineered for reliable performance across long, hot days and rapidly changing conditions.
The 17th Hole (aka “The Party Hole”)
To live up to its name, the Party Hole demanded a true entertainment experience. CMS supplied custom LED screen content, live vision at both the tee and the hole, and full camera operations with onsite cutting.
Our technical team produced real-time switching, branded graphics and crowd-driven moments, all supported by a DJ booth and dedicated audio for the zone. The result: a high-energy fan environment that became a signature feature of tournament week.
18th Hole — Premium Hospitality Client Marquee
For a major event sponsor, CMS designed and installed an “invisible” audio system within a premium marquee.
Speakers, cabling and grills were embedded inside false walls and hidden behind tailored materials, allowing the space to deliver pristine audio without interrupting the aesthetic. A turnkey control rack was provided for venue operators to use throughout the event.
Broadcast Van — Mobile Production Control
CMS deployed its mobile broadcast van to manage vision playback and camera cutting for the Party Hole. The van provided a compact, self-contained production suite that could drive directly onto site, reducing bump-in requirements and freeing up prime space previously used for technical infrastructure.
Inside, the van operated as a full control environment, integrating playback systems, comms, audio feeds and switching tools for seamless, on-the-fly delivery.
Greg Norman Medal Awards — Full Gala Event Delivery
CMS also delivered the Greg Norman Medal Awards at the Royal International Convention Centre.
Our team supplied complete audio, vision, cameras, lighting, staging, LED screen design and custom graphics, supported by specialist crew including FOH audio, camera cut, vision/grfx playback, show direction and technical direction.
This dual-event delivery, from outdoor championship to formal awards gala, demonstrates the breadth of CMS capability across environments, formats and production styles.
If you’re planning a major sporting event, fan activation zone or corporate awards night, our team can help you deliver it with confidence.
